Since 1918 the Vancouver Natural History Society (now Nature Vancouver) has forayed into the BC backcountry for one and two-week wilderness camps to study nature, appreciate our province’s gorgeous landscapes, and just enjoy the fellowship of outdoor-oriented people.  What started with boat, train and packhorse travel has evolved into helicopter supported camps, delicious food and creative solutions for comfortable backcountry camping.  Come and see fascinating images from the initial camps along with more recent decades of NV camps.  NV camps make more remote wilderness areas affordable and accessible for both the experienced camper and those new to backcountry camping. The retrospective will be presented by Nature Vancouver camp committee chair, Nigel Peck.
