Once again we head off on our traditional, pre-Christmas three-day trip to ski SilverStar, which consistently has the best early season conditions anywhere in BC, and offers over 100km of groomed cross-country ski trails, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing.
We will be departing Thursday morning between 7-9 a.m. The exact departure time will be decided later. If conditions allow, we will leave at 7:10 and ski Stake Lake on our way to Vernon; otherwise the we will leave a bit later, arriving in SilverStar mid-afternoon giving you time to unpack and have dinner.
We will spend the next three days (Friday through Sunday) skiing at Sovereign Lake and Silverstar. The joint trail networks of Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and SilverStar Mountain Resort offer over 105km of expertly groomed trails (suitable for both classic and skate skiing).
You can ski either Sovereign Lakes or SilverStar, or you can purchase a dual area cross-country pass that provides one gondola ride to the top of the SilverStar downhill area. From there, you can decide to explore the Silver Star trails or cruise down Lars Taylor way to the Sovereign Lake trails.
If you're a downhill skier, you can enjoy the 3269 acres of skiable terrain at the top-class Silverstar resort, widely known for its premium snow conditions. Snowshoers can also enjoy the many scenic trails at Silverstar.
