Our annual “long” trip will transport us to various ski areas in BC and Alberta.  We’ll leave Tuesday, February 26th at 7:00 AM and ski at Stake Lake near Kamloops on our way to the Sandman Hotel in Revelstoke.  The Sandman features free Wi-Fi, a pool, whirlpool, gym, and Denny’s restaurant with room service available.  Rooms have 2 double beds, flat screen TV, a coffee/tea maker, and hairdryer.

Wednesday we’ll depart at 8:30 for Dawn Mountain (in Golden, near Kicking Horse downhill area).  The trip takes 2 hours, and there is a one-hour time change, as well.  After about 4 hours of skiing, we’ll head for the Best Western Pocaterra Inn in Canmore, where we’ll stay for 3 nights.  The hotel features free Wi-Fi, complimentary hot breakfast, fitness centre, whirlpool, sauna, steam room and an indoor swimming pool with a large waterslide!  Rooms have 2 queen beds, fireplace, flat screen TV, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, mini-fridge, and hairdryer.

On Thursday, we’ll ski at the Canmore Nordic Centre, which is just a short bus ride from the hotel.  On Friday we’ll head east to Peter Lougheed Park in Kananaskis Country.  On Saturday we’ll explore the trails at Mt. Shark ski area before heading back to Revelstoke for our second night at the Sandman.  Sunday morning at 8:45 we’ll pack up and set out for Mt. McPherson Nordic before heading home to Vancouver.  We plan to arrive home around 7:30 PM.
